I finally made my program and finally made my website. I did everything that I needed to do. Now all I need is search engine visibility. According to some internet articles, I can make lots of sites link back to my site. But that requires signing up and that takes forever to do. So I’m looking for a way to make my site visible in a short amount of time. Any way that I can do that? Thanks in advance.

I have Internet Explorer and I think it is Internet Explorer 6. I downloaded this thing and it came along with the search engine Fast Browser Search which I do not want. How to I change this to be google.

Google is apparently the best one, one can have..I haven’t tried Google wave yet but wonder if a search engine could have more features with its main work ’search results’.. My business has 4 separate websites. If I linked all of these sites together would I get better SEO results? If I linked every page on every site to every page on the other sites, would this help also? Any tips would be appreciated! Thanks!

Yes it will as long as you don’t make them reciprocal links meaning site A linked to site B and B to A. Reciprocal links are considered by search engines as simply advertising each other. The reason why search engines value links with their ranking is because of the quality of the site. If your site has single links to a number of other sites then search engines would think that your site has valuable information and so they will put it to their top pages.

Make your websites linked 3 or 4 ways: A to B; B to C; C to D; D to A. The search engines will see these links as single links and will count them as quality links. What is the search engine? And if you downloaded a game, you must uninstall it, not just delete it. Go to Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel and find your game. Click to remove it, but before you do, see if your strange search engine is also listed. I don’t think it will be, but if it is, you will need to remove it also. After removing whatever programs you need to get rid of, close the control panel and restart your computer so the changes will take effect.

As to slowing your computer, we really need to know what the program is to answer that.

There is plenty you can do for free.

1. Have plenty of text on your site: search engines need something to read.Add alt tags to photos.
2. Make sure your meta tags are there (not as important as it once was but you need a title and description at least)
3. Know your target audience. Decide who you want to look at your site.
4. Post links to your site on forums and message boards relating to the subject of you site. Don’t spam message boards, if possible discuss the topic and have your website in your signature. Search engines like links in message boards as they show the site is relevant and topical.
5. Have a blog about the subject and post on it, make sure each post has a link to your website. Search engines like blogs and rate links from them highly.
6.If its a new site make sure you submit it to Google.
7. Get a contents page with text links to all the pages you want people to see.
8. Get a site map and make sure its available and in xml format.
9. Link exchange with websites that are on the same subject.
10. If possible reference your website on wikipedia.
11.make sure you have a robots.txt file to tellt he robots to come back and search again.
12. update your content often.
